When it comes to whether Andy Lee and girlfriend Rebecca Harding decide to get married, it seems Rebecca is holding all the cards. The report cards that is.
Rebecca has been super cagey about her Year 12 ENTER score, and according to Andy, there shall be no proposal until all cards are on the table and there are no secrets between them. He joked with Kiiss 101.1’s Jase and PJ, “So I said to her, if you want to be proposed to, we can’t have any secrets. So the day you tell me your enter score, is the day I’ll know you’re ready.”
But, like a room full of hopeful Chinese/Italian/Indian/Greek and Jewish aunties, we all want to know when, when, when! Why? Because we like them and they look so happy together. While his comedy partner Hamish Blake has gone on to marry and have children, Andy, 37 and Rebecca, 27, are in no such rush.
So, while we all drum our fingers in anticipation of an ‘Andy Lee Wife’ headline, let’s find out more about Ms Harding…
1. Here is, literally, what she had for breakfast
Okay, okay, on to more interesting topics…But, just saying, Bec does eat an organic diet, is a fan of kombucha and told Beauticate she has “at least one mouthful of Kehoe’s Raw Sauerkraut daily to help keep my tummy in check”.
2. The Andy Lee Rebecca Harding Romance. Where did it begin?
The co-host of True Story and Hamish & Andy began dating Rebecca in 2014, 5 years after his relationship with Megan Gale ended. They met in a restaurant where Bec was working as a waitress when she was still at Uni. Andy told Hamish on air about what captured him most …“I caught her eye and I was attracted to her. Just the way she was treating other people, she had a lovely demeanour”. Andy left his number on a napkin when he got up to leave, and the rest is history. Although they briefly split in 2016, the pair have been a solid item since then.
3. She has no reason to hide her year 12 score
Bec has an undergraduate degree in Media and Communications majoring in Public Relations, as well as a Masters of Communications.
4. What is her current gig?
Rebecca is a legit model and was selected as the face of US lingerie brand Maidenform which launched into the Australian market in 2018.
5. She’s an Influencer
In 2017 she was the face of Myer’s Fashions on the Field. A year later, when Seppelt Wines upped the ante on their Flemington marquee at 2018’s Spring Racing Carnival, Bec was appointed their ambassador to help them tap into a younger market.
She’s also been spotted mingling with fellow influencers Sarah Ellen, Nadia Bartel, Kylie Brown, Violet Atkinson and Nadia Fairfax at various events around town.
6. She has Heterochromia Iridis
Sounds scary but is actually quite beautiful. Rebecca’s eyes are different colours, her right eye is blue and her left eye is brown.
7. She doesn’t take herself too seriously.
Rebecca has a terrific sense of humour. Well, to hang out with Andy, she’d have to. When asked what her ‘type’ was, she replied “My type is fun, goofy and SUPER handsome –a la Andy Lee”.
8. She’s gracious
When travelling through the southern states of America with Andy, Bec had a swig of moonshine. Despite it nearly stripping the back of her throat, she politely replied to the bar tender “It’s nice”.
9. She spent four years in a mining town
Although originally from Melbourne’s Albert Park, Bec spent much of her childhood in remote areas “My family then moved to a tiny mining town in rural Western Australia called Kambalda, about a 30-minute drive from Kalgoorlie and we lived there for about four years” she told The Bulletin.
“We then moved to Mildura on the Murray River and lived there until I was 14 when I moved back to Melbourne for boarding school at Melbourne Girls Grammar in South Yarra. Despite both Poppy and I going to boarding school at the age of 14, we’re a super close family.” She continued.
10. She’s a popular gal.
